Start with your child
Look at what they enjoy, their emerging abilities and their willingness to keep learning. DSA is not the right pathway for every child.
DSA through robotics & coding
Direct School Admission recognises more than exam results. Help your child discover their interests, develop real ability and find a school where their strengths can flourish.
For families with primary school children exploring DSA.
Small discoveries. Lasting confidence. The confidence we help children work towards.
A calmer way to think about DSA
When your child gets absorbed in a build, keeps trying after it fails, or can’t wait to show you what they made, you see something worth nurturing.
At Meta Robotics, that interest is our starting point. We don’t offer a standalone DSA course or package. We help children develop their talent through consistent learning and competition preparation, building evidence of their progress along the way.
The application comes later.

Understanding Direct School Admission
MOE’s DSA-Sec pathway recognises children’s interests, aptitude and potential beyond PSLE performance. It helps families consider schools with programmes that can develop those strengths.
Look at what they enjoy, their emerging abilities and their willingness to keep learning. DSA is not the right pathway for every child.
Explore the school’s talent development programmes together. Choose an environment that matches your child’s interests and learning needs.
DSA is not a shortcut around the PSLE. Admission still depends on the relevant academic requirements, and students commit to their chosen school and programme.
We support discovery and development through robotics. If your child’s strongest interest lies elsewhere, an honest conversation about that is part of supporting them well.
Based on MOE’s DSA-Sec overview and DSA-Sec commitment guidance. Meta Robotics is an independent enrichment provider, not an MOE or school partner.

See the learning journey before the applicationThe Meta Robotics approach
A flexible learning journey, guided by your child’s interest and readiness. There is no fixed age to reach each stage, and no need to decide on DSA at the beginning.
Explore robotics and coding through hands-on projects. Discover what your child enjoys and how they approach a challenge.
Starts with curiosity
Learn to build, code, test and improve. With guided practice, children develop understanding they can apply beyond one project.
Grows through practice
Prepare for competitions, work through setbacks and contribute to a team. Reflect on the experience as well as the result.
Deepens through experience
Use our preparation materials to organise projects, learning and competition experiences into a portfolio in their own words.
Shows authentic progress
Use our portfolio materials to organise their own work. For additional submission and interview preparation, ask about our external expert support. Schools decide admissions; your child keeps the skills and confidence they have developed, whatever the outcome.
Their work. Their words.
A certificate records a result. A learning journey gives your child something to say about it: what they tried, what went wrong, and how they made it better.
We provide materials to help students prepare their own portfolios. Your child stays the author, with real experiences and reflections at the heart of the story.
Start building that storyPortfolio and submission requirements vary by school. Always follow the school’s current instructions.
Open each prompt to see what a child could reflect on.
Describe the problem, show the project and explain which parts you built or coded yourself.
Share one setback. What did you test? What did you change? What did that teach you?
Explain your role in a team or competition, the decisions you made and what you learned from others.
Connect the experience to a question or project you would like to investigate further.
Start where your child is

Extra support, when it’s needed
When it’s time to prepare a submission or an interview, some families want more focused guidance.
We work with an expert who previously served as a Head of Department with responsibility for DSA at a leading school. Ask us about additional preparation that helps your child communicate their own experiences clearly.
Ask about additional supportWhy parents choose Meta Robotics
Choosing support for DSA should feel clear and considered. Here is what you can expect from us.
We explain how we can help, what additional support involves and where the school’s own requirements come first. We do not promise offers.
We discuss your child’s interests and readiness openly, including when they need more time or may be better suited to another area.
We don’t sell a dedicated DSA course. Our focus is ongoing learning and competition preparation, with additional expert support discussed separately when needed.
Our track record is told through individual family experiences, including Keith’s story below, and parents’ independent Google reviews.
A parent’s DSA story
Keith’s parent shares how learning, resilience and support through the selection process helped him secure an offer from the School of Science and Technology (SST).

KeithMeta Robotics student since 2022
Keith joined Meta Robotics in 2022, and he has truly enjoyed all his lessons throughout his time there. Through the engaging coding lessons, he learned how to hypothesis-test his ideas, face setbacks, and build the resilience needed to keep trying until he succeeded. Beyond technical knowledge, the hands-on experience greatly built his confidence and presentation skills.
When we found out Keith passed Round 1 of the DSA selection at the School of Science and Technology (SST), Meta Robotics stepped up right away. The team enthusiastically prepared supporting videos and a testimonial to help him shine during the Round 2 show-and-tell session—their dedication made all the difference in securing his offer!
For parents considering a STEM path for their children, place your trust in Meta Robotics. Their coaches not only build technical skills, but also nurture the confidence, communication skills, and character required to excel in DSA.
Hear from a student
From robotics classes and competitions to preparing for Direct School Admission, hear Jayce share his journey in his own words.
A student’s DSA story
Davian’s story is about finding the words for experiences he had genuinely built, tested and learned from.

— Davian, Primary 6
Before I joined, I didn’t really know what to say for my DSA interview. I was very nervous. I thought I would forget everything and just stand there not talking.
But my teachers helped me practise a lot. They asked me questions about what I liked about robotics and what I learned from building robots. They also taught me how to explain my robot in a simple way. We did practice interviews many times, so by the real day, I felt much braver.
During the interview, I remembered what they taught me. I spoke slowly and told them about the robots I built and the things I learned in class.
I even told them about the time my robot didn’t work and how I fixed it!
And guess what? I got a place in Compassvale Secondary School through DSA! I was so happy.
Thank you so much for believing in me and helping me. Robotics is now one of my favourite things, and I can’t wait to keep building cool robots in secondary school!

Questions parents ask
Have a question about your child’s situation? Talk to our team.
P1 is a good time to begin discovering interests, without the pressure of an application. We encourage children to try different activities, notice what they enjoy and gradually develop the abilities that emerge.
The aim is to identify and nurture your child’s strengths, rather than train them for a predetermined DSA category. If they discover a stronger interest or talent elsewhere, an early start gives them time to explore that direction before deciding whether DSA is right for them. Formal DSA-Sec applications take place in P6.
We don’t offer a specific DSA course or package. Our approach develops a child’s interest and ability through ongoing robotics and coding learning, competition preparation and reflection. We also provide materials for students to prepare their own portfolios, with additional submission and interview support available through an external expert.
Start with their interest and current experience. Time to practise, explore and reflect is valuable. If your child is closer to applying, speak to us about what they have already done and check the latest application requirements and dates with the schools and MOE.
Selection criteria differ by school and talent area. Competitions can give children useful experiences to reflect on, including teamwork, problem-solving and persistence. We help students prepare for competitions, but do not promise awards or admission.
We provide preparation materials so students can organise their own learning and experiences. We encourage clear, age-appropriate reflections and work that your child can explain independently. Follow each school’s instructions on what to submit.
A trial introduces your child to our hands-on learning approach. The Robotics Discovery Assessment (RDA) focuses on understanding their current abilities, learning approach and recommended robotics learning pathway. The RDA is not a school admissions test or a prediction of DSA success.
No. Schools make their own selection decisions, and requirements vary. Our role is to help your child develop skills and communicate authentic experiences. Visit MOE’s DSA-Sec overview and the relevant schools’ official pages for current eligibility, commitments and application information.
